2025 Employee Recognition Picnic
The University of South Alabama Employee Recognition Picnic will be held Friday, April 4, from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mitchell Center North Lawn. We encourage networking and fellowship with your colleagues across campus and want to celebrate all you do!

- Do I have to use my vacation or PTO to attend this event? Attendance during scheduled working hours is subject to the approval of your supervisor based on the operational needs of the department. If approved to attend, employees are not required to use vacation or PTO.
- Where should I park? Mitchell Center Parking lot 401 located off of Old Shell Road or Gamma Parking Lot 303 off USA South Drive
- Do I need to register? Yes, you will need to register here. This information assists us in determining how much food we should order and how much seating we will need. Additionally, since this is a Friday during Lent, please be sure to indicate whether you will need a fish or vegetarian option.
- Do I need anything to enter the picnic? Yes, we ask that you bring your employee ID. We will be checking ID’s at a central registration area, so be sure to check in before heading to the food lines.
- Is this event rain or shine? Yes, but the rain location is the Globe Lobby inside the Mitchell Center.
- What is the event dress code? President Bonner has approved work appropriate casual attire for employees.
- Who can attend? This event is open to all USA employees.
- Can student employees attend? Yes, if the student worker is scheduled to work during this time.
- What food will be provided? The food is primarily a picnic style menu. You should expect hamburgers, sides, watermelon and picnic style fare. There will be a limited number of fish and vegetarian options available, so please be sure to register and indicate your dietary needs.
- Will there be alcohol? No, there will be no alcohol allowed at this event.
- What is the cost to attend? This event is 100% free.
- Can I bring my family? No, this event is exclusively for USA employees.
- What other activities will be there? Similar to previous years, we will have games and entertainment.
- Will there be seating in the shade? We will have a tent for seating.
- Is this the only Employee picnic? No, this picnic does not replace other USA Health, University division or departmental celebrations.
