The overall focus of the BFSA is to provide support, professional development, mentoring, and networking opportunities to Black faculty, staff, administrators, and students. The BFSA encourages participation from all faculty, staff, administrators, and students of the University of South Alabama, regardless of race, religion, age, marital status, national origin, disability, or sexual orientation.
BFSA membership is open to all faculty and staff at the University of South Alabama, regardless of race, religion, age, marital status, national origin, disability, or sexual orientation.
Benefits and Incentives of the BFSA Membership:
- Discounted admission into BFSA on and off campus events/fundraisers
- Preferred seating at events
- Names printed on the scholarship donor list
- Voting privileges to include elections, By-laws/Constitution an voting on Association issues
To become a member of the BFSA, you must commit to paying a $40 membership dues per academic year. The dues will support initiatives, special programming and scholarships.
